Tai Chi Based Program in 2012

Beachbody is introducing a tai chi based program in 2012 which will include moves from Mark Cheng, hence the name tai cheng workout.  This is one workout nearly anyone can do, it is low impact so anyone with an injury looking for a substitute for their extreme workout will enjoy this particular tai chi based program. The tai cheng workout is a 90 day program with an emphasis on balance, stability, posture, breathing, and coordination so it is not only appropriate for those who are injured, it may help prevent future injuries.

The tai cheng workout is also targeted at seniors for whom Beachbody’s P90X or Insanity workout would likely be inappropriate. The tai chi based program was developed by Dr. Mark Cheng, a martial arts master trainer, acupuncturist and a rehabilitation specialist. He understands that seniors will want to increase their joint flexibility,  increase their stamina and their general health. For seniors, a proper diet and exercise are important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

However, many older people believe they couldn’t possibly finish a workout video, especially one from Beachbody. The tai cheng workout will prove them wrong. It can be done by people in their 90′s but naturally, a senior should check with their doctor first before starting any fitness routine, even a low impact  tai chi based program.
