Lactic acid and Muscle Fatigue

latic acidLactic acid is a substance that our body produces naturally by the oxidation of glucose into the cell during exercise and which causes appearance of fatigue and muscle aches after the completion of a physical effort.

Lactic acid is produced when aerobic energy supply is less than that demanded by the body, which generates an acid accumulation in muscle fatigue occurring over a period of muscular exercise.

The elevation of lactic acid concentration is therefore due to a lack of oxygen in the body condition called hypoxia. It is thus an excellent marker of the degree of oxygenation that different body tissues.

People who exercise intensely aware of its effects in muscle, although it should be noted that lactate production in an organism varies greatly depending on the constitution of the person and the intensity of exercise performed, and when this exercise requires great amount of energy and these cells do not have the sufficient oxygen, increases the presence of lactic acid.
