Large Eggs Less Cholesterol
The Department of Agriculture of the United States regularly conducts research on food, this time found that there was a relationship between egg size and the amount of cholesterol. It appears that large eggs have less cholesterol than 10 years ago. The eggs are so highly contested regarding whether or not they on a diet to lower cholesterol.
Recently, the Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS) conducted reviews of the chemical composition of different foods. According to this latest revision, large eggs contain 14% less cholesterol than the eggs of the same size 10 years ago. It also found that 64% contained more vitamin D.
These data support certain scientific research casting the myth, the egg is a nutrient that increases cholesterol. Quite the contrary now the egg is considered as a functional food.
All these studies allow us to infer that healthy people can consume eggs without significant risk of any cardiovascular disease. Anyway, so far, the recommendations for those with any history of cardiovascular disease, are still 3 units of whole eggs per week.
