Thyroid Hormone in the Blood
Hyperthyroidism is a health problem in which there is an excess of thyroid hormone in the blood
Causes
It is manifested by excess production or release of thyroid hormone.
There are conditions that can cause hyperthyroidism as a tumor or benign thyroid nodule, Graves disease, subacute thyroiditis (inflammation of the thyroid) or sometimes by overproduction of the hormone TSH from the pituitary gland or a tumor in the ovaries.
Symptoms
There are several symptoms that may be present in this disease because it participates in several metabolic processes, some symptoms are: Hot flashes, excessive sweating, nervousness, hyperactivity, palpitations, anxiety, trembling hands, mood swings, irritability, intolerance to heat, Hair loss, Insomnia, shortness of breath, malaise, fatigue, exhaustion, weight loss, menstrual irregularity, In older adults, may have heart failure, unexplained weight loss, psychiatric disorders, cardiac arrhythmia.
