The Thyroid Gland the Trachea
The thyroid gland is housed at the sides and front of the trachea, at the bottom of the larynx. It is an endocrine gland whose function is to regulate the body’s metabolism, proteins and also participates in the hormonal function of the human body.
The thyroid, like any other organ or part of our body, can have performance problems and we must be alert to the symptoms of the thyroid to prevent diseases that could be dangerous if not treated.
One symptom of the thyroid more commonly occurs is diarrhea, which usually indicate hyperthyroidism. But you can also make the opposite case, constipation may also be due to thyroid problems and if accompanied by hair loss, dry skin or lack of attention we are probably a case of hypothyroidism.
Other symptoms of the thyroid can become alert to a problem are:
* High cholesterol without apparent cause may be due to the thyroid.
* Eating disorders and weight increase or decrease. As a gland responsible for regulating metabolism weight problems may occur.
* Dry, thick, hardened skin or wet and hot.
* Intolerance to cold, especially in the hands and feet.
* Immune system problems. Hair loss or hair becomes weak.
Fatigue or weakness, rapid fatigue when doing any physical exercise mild, palpitations and tachycardia.
* Depression and loss of self esteem, nervousness, hyperactivity, restlessness and even earthquakes can occur.
* Sleep disturbances and memory loss.
The symptoms of the thyroid can be very mild so that sometimes go unnoticed, but it is very important for early diagnosis to resolve any alteration of the thyroid gland.
